Today in class I learned a lot of information in a short period of time...

This included how amazing the iPad really is and a small snapshot of all the amazing apps that are available on it. It's amazing how many different assistive tech programs are available on one piece of technology. Not only is it thought of as an iPad, but it is a personal organizer, photo and video camera, TV, video player, music player, store, dictionary, voice recorder, reader, a book, a GPS, not to mention all the assistive technology programs, and the list goes one…I honestly thought the iPad, iPhone and iPod was just a trend, but now I see how it is such a powerful tool in education!

As Barb said in class, iPads really are a prime example of a "convergence of technology"!

My HP laptop is dying and I was looking into replacing it with another one, but now I am leaning towards converting over to the iPad. I wish I could afford to buy a class set to use in my classroom as well. I don't understand why we have Net-Books. Even before hearing about all the features the iPad includes, I was frustrated with using them in class as they are slow and limited. Now that I have learned how expensive some assistive technology programs are separately and how we could cut these costs but merely buying iPads instead, it frustrates me more!

I had fun playing with the app iMovie and I would really love to use this in my classroom for Healthy Living. The students love doing mini-plays in front of the class on sensitive topics. How amazing would it be if they could create an iMovie trailer instead?! That's what I call integrating technology!

Our group made a great iMovie trailer in class on Assistive Technology, but unfortunately it may offend some groups and therefore I am unable to post it to my blog. However, on top of learning how to create an iMovie trailer I was even able to learn how to email to myself the trailer from the iPad to my email to access on my PC.

I was able to get a quick tutorial in class on how to create a blog (which I am doing now) but I also spent some time learning how to create a blog watching YouTube videos. Here is one of the videos I found:
